At the International Conference on Ethics Education 2026 (IAEE2026) in Amsterdam, GATE facilitated a solution session bringing together participants from education, meta-research, ethics, and Open Science around a central question: how to embed and foster Open Science within institutions and communities.

Working with GATE personas and Open Science guiding thoughts provided by the workshop facilitator, participants co-created three practical solutions.

1. The first targets Early Career Researchers who are more likely to adopt open practices when they can see concrete benefits for their own work. Making the rewards of openness visible - through discipline-specific evidence on citation advantages and practical platforms such as Zenodo - and embedding this communication in existing teaching formats is a low-barrier, cross-disciplinary solution applicable across all research lifecycle phases.
   Guiding thoughts supported by this solution: Reward system, Capacity building
2. The second proposes directing PhD students to their Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) teacher as a first point of contact for Open Science-related questions, positioning RCR teachers as navigators who connect students to the right specialists and multi-professional teams  (if available). 
3. The third solution draws on a real-world example from Ghent University (GhentCORR): building a bottom-up, institutional community dedicated to open and reproducible research — inclusive, cross-disciplinary, and connected to broader European networks.

Across all three solutions, the shared message is clear: the tools and knowledge for Open Science are already there. What researchers need is orientation, connection, and institutional support to put them into practice.
